As an artist I am deeply drawn to the physicality of painting. The act of applying paint, experimenting with materials and mark making is an integral part of my creative process which I view as an alchemical transformation. For me, art is a means of capturing and preserving the essence of a moment, a memory, or a sense of place. Art offers me a unique visual language.
I find inspiration in the landscapes of the Black Mountains in Wales and the expansive reedbeds of North Norfolk - two contrasting yet equally captivating environments. Through my work I aim to convey the feelings and memories evoked by these landscapes.
I have a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from Hereford College of Art and I am a member of the Black Mountain Circle - a co-operative of artists and makers - our collective works are showcased and sold through The Frogmore Street Gallery in Abergavenny.
