Sarah hanner Hopwood

I’m inspired by the hills of Wales, the majestic Scottish Highlands and Islands, and colours of the Mediterranean. My love of the outdoors and the human connection with the wild motivates my landscapes; using whatever tools I find to mark out undulations, colours, mood and the occasional pathway.

My imagined landscape paintings are often layered using collage, watercolour and cotton, or can be just multiple layers of watercolour. My style is achieved not only by brushes but by using other found objects to tease and play with the water and pigment to blend and lead colours.

I regularly exhibit and sell at events across the country. I also work full-time for the NHS which I love, so painting has to be part time for now.
