Dionne Sievewright
After graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee Art School in 1997, I pursued a career in my degree subjects of Illustration and Printmaking. In 2001 I opted to paint full time.
Composition, texture, light and tone alongside memory and imagination are key factors in my work. My inspiration comes from my travels abroad and the natural world around me with seasonal changes often reflected in the South Wales, Scottish and Cornish landscapes. I may start on location with sketches in pencil and watercolour and then complete the work in my garden studio. I use a wide range of media to achieve the colours and contrasts typical of my work.
Still lifes are set up with many objects, plants and flowers found in my home.
I consider herself very fortunate to be fulfilling my dream... dedicating time to something that I love so much.
